Update: 19 July, 7:09 PM

Today, 19 July 2024, at 3.30pm Interactive was made aware of a global outage affecting many organisations in Australia and New Zealand.

By way of an update, here is the latest communication from Crowdstrike regarding this issue:

Summary:
CrowdStrike is aware of reports of crashes on Windows hosts related to the Falcon Sensor.

Details:
Symptoms include hosts experiencing a bugcheck\blue screen error related to the Falcon Sensor.

Current Action:
CrowdStrike Engineering has identified a content deployment related to this issue and reverted those changes.

If hosts are still crashing and unable to stay online to receive the Channel File Changes, the following steps can be used to workaround this issue:

Workaround Steps – You may require Administration Rights:
Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment
Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory
Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”, and delete it.
Boot the host normally.

Interactive’s Advice to Customers:
• If your devices are currently online, there is no action required. Crowdstrike is working on the fix to ensure these devices are not impacted by this issue.
• If your devices are bluescreening/in a reboot loop, we advise that you use the workaround steps outlined above by Crowdstrike.

We encourage our customers to please continue to check the official CrowdStrike website for further updates and be cautious of unofficial sources of advice.
